About Vibe Code Source

The open source home for vibe coding — building real software by describing what you want and letting AI write the code. Free prompts, honest guides, and tool comparisons for everyone from first-time builders to developers moving faster.

Why we exist

Building software shouldn't require permission

In February 2025, Andrej Karpathy — co-founder of OpenAI — coined the term vibe coding: describing what you want in plain language and letting AI handle the implementation. By the end of the year it was Collins English Dictionary's Word of the Year. Almost overnight, the barrier to building software dropped from "learn to code first" to "have a clear idea."

That shift is real, but the resources around it are scattered, hype-heavy, and often dishonest about where the magic ends. Vibe Code Source exists to fix that — to be the practical, no-nonsense reference we wish existed: clear prompts that actually work, guides that tell you the truth about the hard parts, and comparisons that pick a side instead of hedging.

Anyone with something to build

Non-technical founders prototyping their first MVP. Designers who want to ship, not just mock up. Hackathon builders racing the clock. And experienced developers using AI to skip the boilerplate and move faster. Different goals, same toolkit — that's who we build for.
